Active vibration control by twin rotor damper

The test setup is presented. The video shows that the control algorithms ensures that the TRD operates in the preferred mode of operation, the energy-efficient continuous rotation mode. To prevent re-excitation, two methods are presented. When using the ON/OFF method, the TRD turns itself off for small vibrations and back on for large vibrations. When using the other method, both TRD units jointly damp the motion, whereas for small vibrations, the TRD units work in anti-phase such that the control forces cancel.
