Fluid-Structure Interaction
elbe uses a bidirectional, partitioned, explicit coupling approach for the simulation of fluid-structure interaction problems in two and three dimensions. The rigid body motion is modeled with a quaternion-based motion modeler or, if necessary, coliision-resolving physics engines.

Numerical simulation of three-dimensional wave-structure interactions with elbe and a rigid body engine for collision detection. Note the different duck densities, that lead to different dynamic behaviors.
