Optical isolation in silicon waveguides based on&n

Abstract: The longitudinal mode-field components in strongly confining crystalline-silicon waveguides cause a forward-backward asymmetry of the stimulated Raman effect. This nonreciprocity can be used to realize isolators with dynamically reconfigurable isolation direction.
