On November 12, 2020, Prof. Hermann Rohling received the honorary degree of Doctor Honoris Causa from the Politehnica University of Timisoara, Romania. Prof. Rohling was awarded the degree for valuable contributions to the higher education development, scientific research, and good cooperation with Politehnica University of Timisoara.
Due to the current situation, the ceremony was held online. The event was opened by the president of the senate, Prof. Radu Vasiu. The opening speech was then delivered by Prof. Florin Dragan, the rector of the university. Prof. Corina Nafornita gave the laudatory speech, referring to Prof. Rohling’s activity in research and teaching, as well as the long-term partnership and collaboration with Romanian universities. Prof. Rohling also gave a talk, presenting the topic of autonomous driving based on radar sensors.
From 1999 to 2012, Prof. Rohling was head of the Institute of Communications at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH). All his colleagues of the institute cordially congratulate him on the occasion of receiving this honorary title!
