Gerhard Bauch, head of the Institute of Communications, was elected to the Board of Directors of the Information Technology Society (ITG) in the Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (VDE) for the term 2021-2023.

The board consists of nine members, three representatives from each of the groups

• service providers, operators and research institutes
• industry
• academia

ITG is a society of VDE. VDE is one of the largest technology organizations in Europe dedicated to innovation and technological progress. It is the only organization in the world that combines science, standardization, testing, certification, and application consulting under one umbrella.
