Inline analytics of biotransformations utilizing UV-, fluorescence and infrared (IR) spectroscopy enables real-time online control of bioprocesses. IR spectroscopy provides qualitative information on molecular structure and allows quantitative determination of concentrations.
In combination with attenuated total reflectance probes and chemometric modeling, product and substrate concentrations can be determined in liquid environments ranging from a single-solution to multiphase systems and non-conventional media. Examples for the application are solvent-free systems or deep eutectic solvents.
