Mr. Sankeerth Govindaiah Narayanaswamy

I obtained my Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Civil Engineering from Rashtreeya Vidyalaya College of Engineering, India, in 2018. During my B.E., I focused on soil stabilisation using waste materials, field surveying, and structural design. In 2024, I completed my MSc in Environmental Engineering at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), where my research centred on the distribution and impacts of small agricultural reservoirs in the MENA region, utilising remote sensing data and hydrological modelling.

Throughout my studies, I have gained expertise in remote sensing, GIS analysis, and environmental modelling. I worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Geo-Hydroinformatics and the Institute of Wastewater Management and Water Protection at TUHH, where I contributed to various projects involving hydrological data analysis, sustainable agriculture, and water management.

In 2024, I began my PhD at the Institute of Geo-Hydroinformatics at TUHH. My research focuses on understanding evaporation losses from rivers on a global scale, a critical component in water resource management. My work employs advanced tools, including Google Earth Engine, GIS, and hydrological modelling, to quantify and analyse evaporation processes under changing climatic conditions. I am passionate about leveraging geospatial technologies to address pressing environmental challenges and improve our understanding of global water dynamics.
