Dr. Lintong Hou

I obtained my BSc degree in Civil Engineering from China University of Mining and Technology-Beijing in 2018. Subsequently, in January 2024, I received my PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, followed by a postdoctoral research there. 
My research primarily concentrated on multiphase flow. I worked on gas/Herschel-Bulkley fluid flow, oil-water emulsification, polymer rheology, electrical resistance tomography, and dynamic phase separation under extreme conditions. My research interests are particularly focused on the interactions and evolutionary characteristics of phases within multiphase flows. Additionally, I am enthusiastic about designing and conducting experiments both in the laboratory and in the field to address challenges related to multiphase flows and the transfer of mass and energy.
Since July 2024, I have been a Research Associate at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) in Germany. At TUHH, my current focus is on advancing the assessment of river evaporation losses and systematically establishing the complex relationships between river evaporation behaviors and their multiple influencing factors. I am dedicated to developing innovative solutions to quantify evaporation losses in global fluvial network.
