We are pleased to announce that our RTG proposal on Climate-Informed Engineering has been successfully funded by the DFG! Twelve PIs were involved in this project and together we could secure approximately 7 million euros for this project. The project will be conducted in close collaboration with Max-Planck Institute for Meteorology and the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health. We introduced the concept of Climate-Informed Engineering first in an invited article, which made it to the cover of the ACS Engineering AU in 2023 (the photo below). This paper (https://doi.org/10.1021/acsengineeringau.2c00037) formed the foundation of our proposal. We plan to recruit 20 PhD candidates in this project along with a postdoc researcher. This project holds significant importance for us at Hamburg University of Technology, as it aligns with the research direction of TUHH and the focus of the United Nations University Hub at TUHH on Engineering to Face Climate Change.
