Weiske entered the editorial office of the Chemische Zentralblatt in 1961. 1965-1969 he was Editor in-Chief of the West Editorial Office of the CZ. 1970-1981 Director of the division "Chemistry Information and Documentation Berlin" of the German Chemical Society, 1981-1993 Managing Director of the Scientific Division of the Fachinformationszentrum Berlin (Specialized Information Centre for Chemistry).
